DESIGNING OF A NEW GENERATION ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM FOR THE GENETHON LABORATORY’S CLEAN ROOMS

Aims

Preventing any cross-contamination between the outside and the research & biosecurity laboratory’s clean room.

Action

  1. 1

    Provisions of the Specifications

  2. 2

Definition of the access control system architecture

  3. 3

Design of the distributed system communicating over a high-tech wired network, the system’s intelligence being distributed among various points which can be duplicated infinitely.

  4. 4

Invention of the communication protocol for a new generation of distributed systems,

  1. 5

    HMI development

  2. 6

Support for the installation of control systems

  3. 7

    Obtaining EC marking

Impact

Sophia Engineering has produced variants on its patented technological building block, which communicates over a wired network, in order to respond to the cost requirements of mass production, and thus allow a much cheaper system than would be possible using a conventional industrial controller.

The access control system designed and developed by Sophia Engineering is now in use across four continents, for the Institut Pasteur, the French blood institute and military hospitals.
